The Hydroinformatics group is dedicated to bridging the gap between data science, software development, and water related challenges. By using advanced algorithms from optimisation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, we tackle urgent problems such as reducing water loss, managing infrastructure assets, and monitoring the quality of bathing water in rivers to protect swimmers' health.
We support other groups at KWB with our programming knowledge and help them turn research ideas into functional code. We not only create early prototypes, but also refine them into robust software solutions which are highly regarded by the open-source community as well as by partners and customers. To ensure the reliability of our solutions, we follow clean code practices, employ agile software development methods, and adhere to interoperability standards such as FIWARE.
