Modelling is an essential tool for us to analyse and investigate the complexity of water networks. Thanks to the broad spectrum of modelling applications— from early warning systems and tracing sources of contamination, to prioritising remediation actions, evaluating environmental impacts, and ensuring compliance with critical regulations—modelling has become a critical tool. The exponential growth of data capabilities provides municipalities with sophisticated modelling solutions, which guide their infrastructural investments and enable strategic assessment of different urban planning scenarios.
Our work focuses on developing better, faster, and more accurate models for all types of urban water management applications. From equation based, deterministic models to advanced machine learning applications, we explore the potential of modelling and help municipalities implement modelling to solve current and future challenges.
