Pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, and persistent and mobile compounds enter the water cycle through numerous emissions pathways. Understanding the sources, pathways, and impacts of these compounds is essential for protecting the environment and human health.
In urban areas, stormwater runoff and chemical leaching from construction sites or roads pose a potential threat to surface water quality. We investigate the sources, pathways, and impacts of chemicals in the water cycle and propose measures to minimize their impact. By using advanced technologies and preventive measures, we support the protection of water supplies and the environment.
